Funded by Children In Need |

The Vulnerable Young Women's Project supports young women, aged 13-19, who have suffered or are currently experiencing familial abuse. Each young woman is treated individually with time taken to understand their needs and aspiration. Building up trust is paramount to achieving results. The project is able to give young women time to feel comfortable and safe in discussing their issues.
The team consists of two Support Workers and a Forced Marriage Worker, who have a wide range of skills and experience in working with young women who require emotional support. They work in partnership with other organisations and agencies to assist young women in achieving their goals.
Familial abuse includes; domestic abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, verbal abuse, forced marriage or threat of forced marriage, neglect and coercive control.
The aim of the project is to empower young women to make positive choices which will help them to develop and achieve a safe, healthy, enjoyable and independent future, enriching their lifestyle options.
Recent new funding from Children in Need will enable us to extend our service to include young men.
