Westbrook
Who is the service for?
Westbrook is a service for homeless single women aged 16-60. The service can accommodate up to three women with babies up to 12 months old. It comprises Westbrook, the main house, and two move on schemes where women can live for a period while they are establishing their independence.
Where are you?
The support staff team is based at Westbrook, 20 Astley Road, Stalybridge, SK15 1NJ - see Map. They manage both Westbrook and the move on schemes.
What is the accommodation like?
The living accommodation at Westbrook comprises 8 bedsits which include a fully furnished bedroom and a fully equipped kitchen. There are 4 self contained fully furnished flats. There is also a staff office, laundry and service user lounge/meeting room.
The move on accommodation comprises 4 self contained flats at Ambleside, intended for women aged 16-25, and 4 self contained flats at Newton Street. Both are in Stalybridge. All move on properties are part furnished with carpets, cooker and refrigerator. Service users are assisted to obtain their own furniture.
When are staff available?
Threshold staff are available during the day time from 9.00am and in the evenings, usually until 8.00pm; and during the mornings at weekends. A security firm will attend if there is a building emergency at other times.
