Floating Support

Load Flash Player

Threshold has nine floating support services meeting different needs across Oldham, Stockport and Tameside.

Floating support is a service that provides housing related support to vulnerable people to enable them to stay independent in their own homes. The service is sometimes also referred to as tenancy support. However service users are not all tenants and can include owner-occupiers or people who are lodging with others or otherwise insecurely housed.

Each service user has a support worker who helps them to work though a support plan with the aim of achieving independence.

This may include advice and support on:

  • budgeting and debt advice
  • education training and job seeking
  • health issues and life skills
  • tenancy applications and life skills
  • benefits and grant applications
  • signposting to other services and advocacy

Threshold’s support services are funded through Oldham and Tameside’s Supporting People programmes.

If you already know to which service you wish to make a referral, please download a referral form and email, fax or post it to the relevant team. Applications can be made to more than one service.

If you want to find out more about individual services please visit either Oldham floating support services, Stockport floating support services or Tameside floating support services.

It is worth ringing to discuss a referral in advance and to check availability.
