Brenda

Brenda became involved with Stockport Offenders Service after being released from custody. She met Katie from Stockport Offenders Service at Stockport Women’s Centre where she attended a housing drop-in session.
Her tenancy was at risk due to complications with her tenancy agreement, and she was fearful of not meeting the criteria for a private rent credit check.
Katy worked to support Brenda find alternate accommodation for her and her family. She has now found somewhere affordable to live with her family who are settling in well.
Alongside the stresses of rehousing, Brenda has taken every opportunity to better her personal development and has now secured an accredited volunteering position at Stockport Homes. This was a real personal achievement as Brenda had always previously been in employment and now feels that same sense of purpose again.
A highlight for Katie was being invited along to Brenda’s ‘Bridging The Gap’ graduation event. The 16 week addiction and dependency training course with ADS has now enabled her to facilitate her own group.
