Customers learn to repair bicycles on restorative justice project

Customers of Threshold’s Stockport Offenders Services have taken part in a Bicycle Maintenance Course as part of a restorative justice project.
Restorative justice schemes bring offenders and victims of crime together so offenders can better see the impact of their actions.
The two day pilot course provided by local bicycle project Cyclone and Stockport Youth Offending Services, included lessons in basic repairs, comprehensive checks, cleaning, dismantling, and maintenance and took place at Stockport College.

The four customers worked very hard to complete the course, restoring bikes for cycle crime victims, and they were given their own bicycles at the end.

Some are now looking to become peer mentors at the Cyclone Project.
